How admission generally works
The details (dates, fees, weightage) are published each year, so always confirm on the official UAF admissions page. The usual path looks like this.
Each program asks for a particular intermediate or previous degree. Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering and ICS students qualify for different sets of programs.
Applications open once a year on the university's admission portal. Keep your marks sheets, CNIC or B-form, and photographs ready.
Most undergraduate programs use an entry test alongside your previous marks to calculate an aggregate.
Selected candidates are listed by program. Lists often come out in rounds, so a missed first list isn't always the end.
Pay the fee and submit your documents within the deadline, or the seat is released to the next candidate.
Common questions
Is UAF only for agriculture students?
No. Agriculture is its core, but the university also teaches veterinary science, computing, business, food science, engineering and several pure sciences.
Can I change my major later?
In the BSc (Hons) Agriculture program, students choose a specialization after the first few semesters. Switching between faculties is a different matter and depends on university rules and seat availability.
Where do graduates end up?
Common routes include agricultural departments and extension work, research institutes, food and feed companies, banks with agri lending, teaching, private practice for veterinarians, and further study abroad.
Where do I find official fees and dates?
On the university's own website and admission notices. Fees and deadlines change each session, so don't rely on a third-party page, including this one.
